Charles Franklin Bailey, Jr., 63, was killed shortly before 1:45 a.m. on Sunday, June 4, when he lost control of his motorcycle and was struck head-on by a pick-up truck.
"Our father Chuck, Chuckie, Chuckie Cheese was the greatest man. He touched so many peoples lives and has undoubtedly left a hole in all of our hearts," organizers of a GoFundMe campaign made for his family said. "His laughter and spirit will always be with us."
According to police, Bailey was riding southbound on Route 97 near Roxbury Mill Road when he crossed into the opposite lane of travel and was struck by a Chevrolet Silverado head-on.
Bailey was rushed to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
"As most of you know, we lost our father in a motorcycle accident early Sunday morning," the organizers continued. "The call we never could prepare ourselves enough for. Riding was who our father was and his true happy place."
Police say that Bailey was attempting to pass another vehicle when he was struck by a truck. No other injuries were reported.
"As we navigate through this difficult time, we are asking for any support from our friends, family and anyone who knew our dad," his family wrote. "We will be arranging a celebration of life just the way he wanted."
